View Images on your Raspberry Pi

This guide will show you how to view images stored on your Raspberry Pi. This assumes that you are already SSHed into your Raspberry Pi with X Forwarding set up - if you are not see the following guide first: http://www.cpdforteachers.com/resources/setting-up-ssh-and-x-forwarding-for-your-raspberry-pi-in-windows.

1) Navigate to the directory where your image is stored on the Raspberry Pi using cd commands. In this case I have an image called 'ocr_pi.png' in my root directory.

2) Run the following command, replacing 'ocr_pi.png' with the name of your image.

gpicview ocr_pi.png

Note that there is an alternative to the method above- FTP into your Raspberry Pi, as shown in the following guide: http://www.cpdforteachers.com/resources/ftping-into-your-raspberry-pi/, and then transfer the image across onto your local machine.
