Since the 2016 key stage 2 reading SAT results there has been a renewed focus on reading and reading comprehension and there is little doubt that the 2017 results will continue this imperative. Schools across the country are looking for ways to ensure that many more children experience success.

It is essential that we understand exactly what this thing called ‘reading comprehension’ entails and how teachers can maximise the opportunities for learning that every lesson presents. This CPD will help you to teach reading diagnostically, holistically and opportunistically, rapidly building the children’s decoding and comprehension skills as well as broadening and deepening their vocabulary and knowledge base.
